I was blown away by the HDA-5230Mk2.
The most surprising thing was, when I listened to a certain recording, a guitar and vocal recording, the vocals were singing in my head, but the guitar was right in front of me. No matter how I listened, it was in front. Depending on the song, it slightly shifts left or right, but it is always in front. With the same headphones, I could never hear it like this.
Another thing that surprised me is that a certain pair of headphones, which I liked but had become somewhat outdated and was often replaced by new models, started producing fresh sounds as if they were completely different. I also listened to various other headphones I own, and it was really enjoyable that every single one produced a sound that was different from what I had heard before. The headphone amplifier I already own is also a solid, good product that I like and trust, but I also felt it could serve as a reference in a completely different sense.
In its current unbalanced state, I have absolutely no complaints; rather, it reaches a level that would make ordinary balanced amplifiers run away barefoot. Before even discussing balanced capabilities, I believe this sound is probably one of a kind. I have listened to headphone amplifiers in the million-yen class at events, but they are not comparable. However, precisely because of that, I cannot help but wonder what kind of sound it would produce if it became balanced. The other two models (HDA-5520MK2, SCL CAP-1003) also produce fine sound and are wonderful when listened to on their own, but after hearing the 5230, they seem overshadowed. For some reason, I could not perceive as much of a difference in the sound from the current-driven 5520 as I could with the 5230. Perhaps it is due to the power supply. I tried the 5230 with my own clean power supply as well and felt it could be even better.
That said, I am equally amazed that the 5230 has not attracted any attention at all; even when searching online, there is hardly any decent information apart from your store and the official site. Perhaps my search technique is lacking. Yet, it is truly difficult to describe this sound in words. Common expressions used in audio equipment reviews are inadequate.

Impressions of trying the new DL-103D
Since the DL-103D arrived, I tried it with the "ANDRES SEGOVIA GOLD DISC" that I always listen to. I noticed surprising differences in the following aspects:
Sound freshness: The sound was clearer and more vivid.
Guitar contours: The contours of the guitar as an instrument could be heard more distinctly.
Length of reverberation: The decay of each note is longer, adding depth.
Overall Softness: The sound overall is very soft and pleasant to listen to.
The DL-103D was created based on a fundamentally straightforward idea, and that intention is fully realized. Even today, after this, I have prepared several records that I want to continue listening to. (^^)♪

Sound image from low to mid frequencies: While maintaining sound precision, the sound image from low to mid frequencies became fuller.
