Description

Yamamoto Sound Craft YDA-01B is a DA converter that pursues the "gentle and beautiful sound of vacuum tubes" and uses Western Electric's high-performance pentode WE408A. It brings excitement, powerful expressive power, and emotional analog-like sound to digital sources that cannot be obtained with general equipment.


Thoroughly simple design that brings out the charm of WE Pentode

  • Vacuum tube output circuit: Designed to use two WE408A pentodes. A resistor is loaded on the output of the DA converter IC, and it is directly connected to the input section of the vacuum tube, creating a single non-feedback amplifier with a single stage configuration.
  • High purity circuit: The current to the screen grid, which greatly affects sound quality, is supplied through a constant current circuit using MOS FETs, improving the purity of the sound. The design policy of minimizing the number of elements simplifies the circuit and maximizes the purity of the sound.


Luxurious use of DA converter IC

PCM1794A monaural configuration: Adopts PCM1794A DA converter IC in monaural configuration. Out of the four output sections, only one output is used, and dummy resistors are added to the other terminals. Although this design may seem wasteful at first glance, it is based on the conclusion that the purity of sound is higher than parallel connection.
