A socket that can be used with two types of UX vacuum tubes.
Compatible Vacuum Tubes:
300B, 2A3, 45, 71A, 80, 5Z3, VT-52
Mounting hole: 30mm diameter, screw spacing: 38.2mm
Allows swapping between 300B and 2A3 tubes.
The original tube socket is made by machining fluororesin (or Complite) and securing pins through round precision machining. This ensures a snug fit, firmly holding the vacuum tube and preventing sound quality degradation due to vibrations. Additionally, the excellent insulation properties of fluororesin make it a key part in building vacuum tube amplifiers.
Explanation of the Materials Used:
Fluororesin:Officially known as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), it has the highest electrical insulation and dielectric properties among all solids. It also has excellent temperature resistance.
Complite:A material made by force-drying wood and impregnating it with phenolic resin, with electrical properties similar to Bakelite but superior strength. It has high heat resistance and strength, allowing for robust and solid sound.
Phosphor Bronze:Used for the pins of most tube sockets (excluding the L series). It offers high strength, excellent spring properties, and maintains stable contact.
Gold Plating:Most socket pins are coated with a non-magnetic base material and then plated with a thick layer of gold (excluding the L series). Magnetic materials are minimized even in the plating.
