BX-70-LE8T is designed to maximize the performance of JBL LE8T/LE8TH full range unit.Yamamoto Sound CraftThis is a dedicated enclosure designed from scratch. In order to achieve a flexible mid-low range that cannot be obtained with the conventional small capacity commercial boxes made of particle board, we selected 70L from JBL's recommended volume of 20 to 120L, which has an excellent balance of richness and braking.

Domestic birch plywood creates resonance - Tannoy's traditional acoustic material

The enclosure uses Japanese birch plywood. This material, made by laminating high-quality birch into a thin veneer, is the same quality as the plywood Tannoy used in its golden days, and is known by many audiophiles for its excellent sound. Even if you use the same unit, the quality of the sound can vary greatly depending on the material of the box.Based on this fact, we have carefully chosen the materials.

“Instrumental approach” using thin boards and reinforcements made of Asada cherry blossoms

Yamamoto Sound Crafthas a unique design philosophy that regards the enclosure as a "musical instrument." Instead of suppressing the sound with a thick box, this machine uses a thin board and reinforcing material made of Asada Sakura to control the sound. This is the same idea as a violin's sounding rod, and its structure is designed to bring out natural and beautiful resonance.
Asada Sakura is hard and dense, making it an excellent material that tightens the overall resonance of the box. It produces an organic and expressive sound that cannot be obtained with MDF or particle board.

High-precision processing to finish the unit beautifully and flush

The LE8T unit is counter-bored so that it fits naturally on the baffle surface, and is finished with precision so that there are no gaps even when the separately sold punching net is installed. The structure eliminates the Saran net and lattice frame that muddy the sound, and does not impair the unit's original resolution.

Compatible with both LE8T/LE8TH. Edges in good condition recommended

Of course, you can use the Alnico LE8T, as well as the Ferrite LE8TH. Since older units often have degraded edges, using high-quality units with replaced edges allows you to maximize the performance of this device.

The sometimes lacking high frequencies can be naturally compensated with a tweeter

The LE8T may sometimes lack high frequencies when used in a standard setup, so adding tweeters like the JBL 075 or 2405 is effective. By inserting a 0.47–1µF capacitor in series, you can achieve a natural and smooth transition.
