High-performance Audio Rack Made Entirely in Japan from Cherry Wood

Description

Features solid Asada cherry wood supports. A tall, wide model with high rigidity and the natural resonance of wood.

The OSW-122 is a high-tower wide audio rack with an overall height of 1222mm. **The shelves use 30mm thick cherry plywood**, and **the supports use 32mm thick rare solid Asada cherry wood**, combining excellent acoustic properties with high strength.

High-Quality Wood and High-Rigidity Design

  • High rigidity: Shelves are made of 30mm thick cherry plywood, and supports are made of 32mm thick solid Asada cherry wood. This provides the excellent natural resonance of wood while ensuring stability and performance for your equipment.
  • High strength: Despite its wide design, the rack is very sturdy, and it barely sags even when heavy items are placed on it.

Spacious Size and Expandability

  • High-tower design: Overall dimensions are W1090 × D450 × H1222mm. Can store many devices vertically.
  • Storage size: Interior shelf dimensions are **1026mm(W) × 450mm(D)**, a wide design that can accommodate two standard-sized audio devices side by side.
  • Adjustable shelves: Shelves can be moved up or down in **50mm increments**.
  • Expandability: The standard configuration comes with 4 shelves, but additional OSB-W shelf units (sold separately) can be purchased to increase the number of levels.

Review

“I never thought just changing the rack could change the sound this much.”

  • As commonly mentioned about the OSW series, the moment you switch from a metal rack, you can immediately notice the middle and low frequency smearing disappear. Parts of the sound image that were vague gain clarity, and the core of vocals stands out. I experienced the same change with the OSW-122.

“Even though it's a wooden rack, it hardly makes any noise and is easy to handle.”

  • I had thought that a cherry wood rack would be too resonant, but in reality, it has a very good balance, and the roughness in the high frequencies is settled, making the sound less tiring to listen to. Only the unnecessary resonance is neatly removed, and the natural reverberation of the music remains, making it comfortable for long listening sessions.

“I think it’s a ‘reliable rack’ that can be used for a long time.”

  • I like that even when I replace equipment, the sound doesn't break down, and whatever amplifier or DAC I place on it responds naturally. The texture of cherry wood also matches the equipment well, and I felt that it is a rack that can serve as a foundation for an audio system for a long time.
