The new A-08SS is a model-changed version that inherits the characteristics of the old A-08S, which boasted sound quality comparable to the highest quality 300B amplifier, and further improves the quality of the parts used to the utmost. It is designed to combine the pure sound of 45 vacuum tubes with high-efficiency speakers to bring out the best sound quality.
Non-feedback circuit and highly rigid, low-resonance chassis
- Basic circuit configuration: Adopts a non-feedback (Non-NFB) system consisting of a Western Electric 717A driver tube and a 45 vacuum tube output stage. By taking advantage of its basic characteristics, we have achieved a natural sound field and the freshness of high-pitched sounds.
- Laminated reinforced wood chassis: The chassis is made of laminated reinforced wood (COMPRITE), which is a thin veneer of cherry wood impregnated with phenolic resin and molded under high pressure. Since it is an insulator, it prevents the effects of eddy currents inside the amplifier, and its strength surpasses that of phenolic resin, suppressing the resonance and noise of vacuum tubes and components.High-FidelityWe are contributing to the

- Change to high quality capacitors: The circuit part that previously used chemical capacitors has been replaced with high-quality film capacitors in an ebony case. The sound quality is now clearer and richer.
- Adoption of high precision resistors: Significantly upgraded resistors. The main resistors in all stages are surface mount thin film resistors made by Vishay in the US with a resistance error of 0.1% and a temperature coefficient of 5PPM. The accuracy far exceeds that of conventional resistors (1% to 5%), making it possible to achieve low noise amplifiers and significantly reducing residual audible noise.
Attention to power supplies, transformers, and terminals
- Cut core type transformer: The power transformer uses a cut core with excellent regulation, the output transformer uses a 100μ thick Hi-B cut core, and even the choke coil uses cut cores to achieve stable and dynamic sound.
- Fluororesin insulation: In particular, the output transformer uses a fluororesin material with a low dielectric constant as the coil insulation paper to thoroughly improve sound quality.
- High quality socket: We use a high-quality in-house made vacuum tube socket that combines fluororesin material and phosphor bronze pins.
- Terminal: The highest quality pin jack machined from chrome copper is used as the input terminal.The output terminal uses a large Teflon-insulated terminal made of machined pure copper and gold-plated, and can also be connected to an extra-thick cable with an 8mm diameter.
