Lightest camellia head shell
Lightest head shell
Description
HS-7 is a wooden head shell made of camellia made in Japan. Camellia is significantly lighter than ebony with a specific gravity of 0.7, so the grain is very fine and homogeneous and has excellent characteristics. It is the lightest headshell of the head shell with its own weight of 8.1 g (not including mounting screws).
Generally, the lighter the weight of the tone arm of the record player, including the cartridge and head shell, the higher the motion sensitivity. In the case of HS-7, it is recommended to use it as a light vibration system by taking advantage of its lightness. By lowering the mass of the head shell, you can enjoy a different light sound from the same cartridge.
The finish of the HS-7 is surface treatment with eco paint of the clear, and the natural appearance with wood grain has a unique charm. The finger is made of brass and gold plated. Since the wood itself does not produce a unique resonant sound, there is hardly any finger sounding that is problematic in a metal shell.
