High quality ebony setting base
The PB-20 and PB-21 setting bases are designed for amplifiers and speakers and can be used individually or in combination with each other. The material used is African Black Wood, one of the hardest and strongest of all woods. This material is now rare, but is actually used for oboes and clarinets, and has a reputation for its excellent resonance.
Moderate spike bite produces a clear, tight sound.
PB-20 is pin-shaped and can be placed directly under amplifiers and speakers as a point support. PB-21 is concave and can be placed under the pins of speakers or amplifiers with spike pins to serve as a support base. PB-20 and PB-21 can also be combined to form a top and bottom structure to be used under amplifiers and other equipment to support audio equipment at three or four points by flattening both top and bottom surfaces.
Metal is usually used for these pinpoint bases, but metal spikes often produce resonance noise peculiar to metal. In particular, when a metal plate is used to support a metal spike pin, it is easy for resonance sound to be generated, but by combining PB-21, the metal spike bites into the spike appropriately, stabilizing it and preventing metallic resonance.
