Yamamoto Acoustic Craft A-08S "45" Single Stereo Amplifier, used

Despite its small output, the A-08S boasts sound quality comparable to the best 300B amplifiers. It is designed to bring out the best sound quality when used with high-efficiency speakers. The circuit configuration consists of a Western Electric 717A driver tube and a 45 vacuum tube output stage.

The chassis is made of laminated reinforced wood, in which cherry wood veneers are infiltrated with highly insulating phenolic resin and molded under high pressure. Although it looks like wood, it has excellent insulation and strength. This prevents the effects of eddy currents and suppresses resonance to achieve high sound quality.

For vacuum tube sockets, we use high-quality sockets made by the company, which combine fluoroplastic material with excellent insulation performance and phosphor bronze socket pins.

The input terminals use high-grade Teflon-insulated pin jacks with machined chrome copper outer conductors and machined phosphor bronze pins. The output terminals are large, gold-plated terminals machined from pure copper and are compatible with 8mm-diameter speaker cables. The speaker terminals are dedicated for 8 ohms, but 4 ohms and 16 ohms can also be used, but the maximum output power will be reduced to about 4 to 6 watts when the maximum output power is 8 watts.

The legs are made of machined African ebony, known for its beautiful resonance. To ensure strength and resonance, they are directly fixed to the Comprite chassis to firmly support the overall weight.
