Yamamoto Sound Craft 6N Copper Annealed Single Wire Shell Lead YR-03

YR-03 is a high-quality headshell lead wire made of high-purity 6N copper annealed solid wire. Annealing removes stress inside the copper wire and improves conductivity by adjusting the molecular arrangement. This results in a sound quality that is rich in information and yet supple.

Since general stranded wire is continuously processed, the material is hard and disadvantageous in terms of sound quality, but the YR-03 uses a single wire with a diameter of 0.6 mm. It tends to have a tighter sound than stranded wires, and brings out the full potential of the cartridge.

Teflon is used as an insulating material, which boasts excellent electrical properties. The terminal part uses a high-precision connector equivalent to that of our YRT-01, and is plated with an extra-thick gold plating of 1.0 microns on a non-magnetic base. Precision design of 1.0 mm φ on the arm side and 1.2 mm φ on the cartridge side minimizes contact resistance and ensures lossless transmission. In addition, the connections are securely soldered using lead-free, high-quality sound solder instead of caulking.

It goes without saying that the quality of the shell reed is directly related to the sound quality. The YR-03 conveys the full energy of the cartridge and delivers a powerful and toned sound.
