Headphone amplifier powered by AA batteries
The HDA-5520mk2 is equipped with a current output, enabling more precise reproduction by driving headphones with current. This headphone amplifier allows you to experience the true power of headphones.
It is the successor to the earlier model HDA-5520, which was popular overseas. The internal circuitry has been significantly upgraded from the original HDA-5520, resulting in a crisper, deeper sound.
Sealed headphones and earphones are close to the driving method known as elastic control, which offers the advantages of lower distortion when driven by current due to smaller impedance changes and less susceptibility to cables, and the amount of information reproduced is greater because it is driven directly by current. However, with open-type headphones, it is closer to the speaker drive method and the impedance change may be large, in which case voltage drive should be used.
Since it is battery powered, it does not suffer from power supply noise. It can be operated for about 40 hours on 12 AA batteries.
