Description

Equipped with the newly designed MAOP11MS - a speaker system that brings out a delicate and musical monosuspension sound

The MAOP11_MS achieves unprecedented realism in acoustic performance through its unique single-suspension design. In the early stages of development, the difficulty of the mono-suspension assembly resulted in a high failure rate, but after improvements in the manufacturing process, the product was finally successfully commercialized. The sound produced by this innovative driver unit gives the listener a sense of presence as if the music is being played right in front of their eyes, and once they hear it, they are drawn in by its profound appeal.

MAOP (Micro-Arc Oxidation Process)

The MAOP process creates crystals by oxidizing the surface of the aluminum-magnesium cone over a long period of time in an alkaline electrolytic bath solution with a very high voltage (700 V). The effect of this process is that the crystals dump out the 10% of sound resonance waves that would normally pass through the surface of a metal cone. In conventional metal cones, the microresonance pattern passing through the surface is transmitted directly to the frame, but with this MAOP process, the metal cone itself achieves a damping effect similar to that of a pulp cone, which was not possible before. This is the reason why it is called a "quiet and silky smooth audio driver.

MAOP11v2 has upgraded the driver unit to MAOPMS.Like the MAOP11v2, the MAOP11v2 uses a top-quality voice coil made of pure copper rectangular wire exclusively for this model. The advantages of this coil are that it is several tens of percent lighter for the same magnetic force, has less linear resistance, and has less self-resonance.The suspension is softer. The low frequency range is more dynamic, and the ability to express fine details in the mid and high frequency range has been improved.

Paulownia wood hidden behind the front baffle (Paulownia)

The reddish color of the second layer of the bass reflex port can be seen.
This was made possible by obtaining Japanese paulownia wood for musical instruments from a woodworking shop. After a trial listening test, we changed from cherry to solid cedar paulownia wood because it has a very musical tone.
The solid paulownia wood is luxuriously covered on the entire back side of the baffle surface.
Paulownia wood has a unique and fascinating sound quality. However, because of its softness and lightness, it is not commonly used as a material for enclosures.
We were surprised when we auditioned it, but we think that its good qualities will be enhanced and its shortcomings will be suppressed if it is used together with walnut or maple wood, which has a heavy specific gravity due to its high DF.
The expression of whole tone and overtones is very attractive.

Non-magnetic gold-plated OFC single wire is used for internal wiring

Although the internal wiring is hidden inside the enclosure and is very short compared to speaker cables, the sound changes drastically in this last mile.
In order to bring out the best of MAOP11 and solid wood, two completely non-magnetic gold-plated OFC 0.7mm single stranded wires made by AMTRANCE are used for the positive and negative ends respectively (the only completely non-magnetic plating treated with fluorine resin PFA coating in the industry).
Compared to conventional internal wiring, the detailed sound expression is improved as if a veil has been removed.

Oval bass reflex port

Bass reflex sound is a bright, energetic and complete speaker system design method.
On the other hand, some people prefer the acoustic suspension type's subdued, smooth, and gentle characteristics all the way down to the ultra-low frequencies.

Therefore, to suppress the steep ultra-low frequency attenuation of the bass reflex, an oval structure is used with solid wood layered on top of each other, and the resonance frequency is set low, down to 35 Hz. We aimed for the "best of both worlds" of bass reflex and sealedThe design calls for a bass reflex with a mature tone similar to a sealed type. In version 2, the length of the bass reflex port has been adjusted to improve the sound pressure at 40-45 Hz by about 1.5 dB.

Golden Ratio

The Golden Ratio enclosure, which was tuned after repeated listening tests, uses walnut or maple wood on both sides of the baffle plates, and is designed to blend naturally with a modern living room, giving it the appearance of top-quality furniture.

Xmax8.0

The two types of solid wood (hard maple and walnut) have different tones.
Describing these differences is a bit of a difficult task...

Hard maple wood does not attenuate in the high frequency range, so it has a very good start-up and a good reverberation cut-off. It is recommended for genres that are full and contrasting.
Walnut is best suited for classical music played in a hall that makes the most of reverberation.
The walnut is full and gives the sound breadth and warmth, while the hard maple has a crisp cymbal strike and a focused trumpet throat that is visible right in front of you.
Each has a contrasting sound.
We are doing our best to keep the pricing reasonable so that everyone can enjoy the music and the genre of their choice.
Please choose one that coordinates with the design of your room.

The beauty of the Nature Collection series is that it is made of carefully selected materials and carefully crafted by experienced artisans to create a finish that is more beautiful than the finest living room furniture.

Difference between NC11 and NC7

The difference in sound quality between the NC11 and NC7 is that the NC7 is more sensitive and expressive than the NC11, making it ideal for listening to chamber music with stringed instruments. In contrast, the NC11 shows its true value in grand spatial expression, such as classical concerts in a large hall or church organ performances.
The maximum input of the NC7 unit is 20 watts, but its enclosure allows for a more acceptable input of 30 watts, while the NC11 unit is 35 watts, so the actual maximum input is about 45 watts.
Mark Audio's speakers are designed and tuned to provide excellent sound not only when positioned in front of the audio set, but also when moved around and offset, so they may appear inferior when compared to other products based on specs alone.
