Non-standard wideband speaker unit

Flat reproduction up to 37kHz with the world's first diaphragm material MAOP and Pluvia7HD drive unit

Description

An astonishingly wide-bandwidth speaker unit that transcends the performance limitations of full-range units, this driver incorporates the high-performance drive engine of MAOP cone and Pluvia7HD, a derivative of the former Alpair7, in a state-of-the-art glass-fiber chassis design.

The MAOP7 is designed for a typical 12~20 mat room environment and reproduces the original sound with great delicacy, dynamism, and speed.

Voice coil with Rectangular Wire

MAOP_7v2 uses a rectangular copper wire for the voice coil, which is 30% more efficient than a round wire in terms of conversion efficiency in a magnetic field, enabling the weight of the drive (MMD) to be reduced. This contributes to the sound quality of the MAOP7v2 over its entire range.

The MAOP_7v2 contributes to the overall sound quality of the MAOP_7v2 by reducing eddy currents in the mid-range, reducing the number of folded coils, and allowing for a larger surface area design.

MAOP (Micro-Arc Oxidation Process Cone)
Strong field oxidation crystallization process

This is the name of the surface treatment for the matte-like, low-luster surface that is a feature of the MAOP series.

This process involves immersing alloy cones in an alkaline electrolytic solution with a very high voltage (700 V) for an extended period of time (1-2 weeks) to oxidize the surface and form crystals. This process changes the surface of the cone into a crystalline body with numerous flexible bubbles (with many holes), as shown in the photo. (This method changes the cone itself and is not a coating, so there is almost no increase in mass.)

You can see numerous small crystalline bodies and air holes that look like the surface of a sponge. The piles of metal and air holes created by this several-week process make the reproduced sound natural.

The new material, dumped by the cone, generates a micro-resonance pattern that passes over the surface of the metal diaphragm, a groundbreaking invention that achieves a damping effect similar to that of a pulp diaphragm.
