A typical speaker unit has two suspension mechanisms: an edge and a damper (spider) to support the movement of the diaphragm. However, the Alpair 11MS uses a unique single suspension design, eliminating the damper. By supporting the diaphragm only by its edges, we have achieved smooth movement without unnecessary restrictions and overwhelming resolution.
This design allows the diaphragm to move more freely, faithfully reproducing even the smallest nuances of sound. Since there is no loss due to dampers, the sound rises quickly, producing a natural resonance and spacious sound. On the other hand, the voice coil and frame are designed with high rigidity to ensure stability during vibration. This improves controllability during large inputs, which is an issue with single suspensions, and achieves flawless playback.
