A typical speaker unit has two suspension mechanisms: an edge and a damper (spider) to support the movement of the diaphragm. However, the Alpair 11MS adopts a unique single-suspension design and eliminates dampers. By supporting the diaphragm only with the edges, it achieves smooth operation without unnecessary restrictions and overwhelming resolution.

This design allows the diaphragm to move more freely, faithfully reproducing even the smallest sound nuances. With no damper loss, the sound rises quickly, producing a natural resonant and expansive sound. On the other hand, the voice coil and frame are designed with high rigidity to ensure stability at amplitude. This improves controllability during large inputs, which is considered a challenge for single suspensions, and achieves break-free playback.
