Product Concept

Among the wood models of the "Gold PL Series," the BRAZILIAN PURPLEHEART WOOD features a lighter and more transparent sound.
Brazilian Purpleheart, from Brazil, boasts not only its beautiful natural purple color but also an extremely hard texture and high density, so much so that it sinks in water. These physical properties dramatically enhance the cartridge's response performance.

  • Brazilian Purpleheart: Robust body delivers intricate detail
    Purpleheart, unusually hard for wood, makes the sound onset (transient) exceptionally clear. Despite its lightweight design of 8g, its high rigidity minimizes energy loss and extracts resolution capable of handling modern high-resolution recordings.
  • Essence of the Gold PL Series: Natural and detailed sound
    The properties of the gold-plated copper coil integrate bright treble and smooth midrange at a high level. Without emphasizing any specific band, it faithfully reproduces the tone of instruments, pursuing the "true analog sound."
  • Handmade by a master: Pride of Kaunas, Lithuania
    Each unit is meticulously assembled by founder Aidas Švazas in a workshop in Lithuania. The design, based on extensive repair and improvement experience since the 1990s, has earned strong trust from audiophiles around the world.

AIDAS: Mounting style and compatibility

  • Bolt-on thread method
    The AIDAS cartridge body has precise threading (M2.5). Without using nuts, it can be neatly mounted from the top with bolts only, significantly reducing installation stress when handling expensive cartridges.
  • Half-inch mount
    Adopts screw holes with a 12.7mm spacing, which is a global standard. It is compatible with head shells from various manufacturers, making it a highly versatile design.
  • Optimization for the Tonearm
    The balance between its own weight and the appropriate tracking force has been optimized so that the AIDAS performance can be maximized in many modern 'medium-mass tonearms.'
Sound Character
The AU-CU series, which uses gold-plated copper wire coils, achieves a higher resolution and a more natural sound compared to the CU series (pure copper). Both the body material and coil material are sources of its unique character, and these rare materials have been selected through extensive voicing tests by AIDAS.
