Draws out every detail of ultra-small MC signals without loss
A dedicated fixed-structure design dedicated to ultra-low output, low-impedance MCs
It is actually difficult to get very low output MCs to sound right.
The subtlety contained in ultra-small signals, holographic soundstagetemperature—the reasons why very low output MC cartridges are loved are countless. However, bringing out their full potential is not easy. The smaller the output, the more gain is needed, and if you amplify with a phono preamp, noise also increases. Those delicate expressions can be buried in hiss and thin sound—haven’t you had such experiences? The DECVS is a dedicated step-up transformer specifically designed to solve this exact problem: “how to properly drive very low output MCs.”
■ Not 'one unit for everything,' but 'dedicated to this one unit'
Many transformers have switching options or multiple paths to accommodate various cartridges. While convenient, compromises inevitably arise. The DECVS goes the opposite way. It has no switches whatsoever and is fixed-structure, aimed specifically at low-output, low-impedance MCs. By determining operational conditions to a single point, it achieves the shortest, purest signal path and steadfast reference operation.

Full balance brings pitch-black silence and density
Although the DECVS uses RCA input, it is designed for complete balanced (differential) transmission from the input stage. Selected transformer pairs operate fully balanced, canceling out noise and hum, allowing the music to emerge from pitch-black silence. Channel independence is high (channel separation over 80dB), and the position of each instrument is clearly defined, providing an open and clear soundstage. A high step-up ratio of 1:36 comfortably lifts ultra-small MC signals, delivering a dense sound without thinness or stress. Output supports both RCA and XLR, allowing flexible connection to your phono preamp, and with balanced equipment, XLR takes it a step further.
A steadfast foundation: rigid chassis and grounding
For transformers that handle micro-signals, being "quiet" mechanically and electrically is life-or-death. DECVS suppresses vibrations with a highly rigid steel chassis and also functions as a magnetic shield. Furthermore, equipped with an isolated ground and ground lift mechanism, it carefully manages ground loops even in complex systems with increased equipment. All of these are packed together perfectly on the compact FUCHS platform.
For people like this:
Ideal for those who use very low-output MCs (roughly 0.2mV or less), those troubled by insufficient gain or noise from phonoicos, and those who want to "perfectly perform this role" rather than "one unit for everything." Those who already have a highly satisfied analog environment will clearly notice the difference between quietness and density.
