The FRT-120K (nickname: Pamina) is a ribbon-type super tweeter developed with a design philosophy focused on extracting natural harmonics and a sense of air. It supports ultra-wideband playback from 4 kHz to 120 kHz, and even ±10 dB up to 150 kHz, dramatically enhancing the sense of space and transparency in music, whether from high-resolution sources, analog discs, or CDs.

Ribbon diaphragm and transformerless design

After comparing and measuring numerous tweeters, the design with a thin, vertically elongated diaphragm showed the best characteristics. Because the entire diaphragm moves back and forth simultaneously, it doesn’t require increased rigidity, allowing the use of lightweight films or foil. This structure drastically reduces mass, improving responsiveness and frequency characteristics. In addition, despite being ribbon-type, it features a transformerless design, eliminating signal loss thoroughly and purely bringing out the delicate, quick sound unique to ribbon speakers.

Wiring material consists of oxygen-free copper wire with polyethylene insulation, and terminals are made of non-magnetic material to maintain maximum signal purity. The cabinet is made of Bubinga wood, combining weight and hardness, achieving instrument-like texture while suppressing unwanted resonance.
