Description

Fidelix CAPRICE features the highest performance 32-bit DAC chip ES9018 from ESS. To make use of this performance, the ultra-low jitter clock with a high-speed amplifier with bipolar input instead of CMOS supplies current from a dedicated shunt power supply. In addition, a key device such as Class A Super Low Noise OPEN Amplifier (1.8nV/μ Hz) is developed in-house with a quick response power supply with no overshoot due to ultra-low noise about 30dB low compared to the general 3-terminal regulator. The IV conversion unit consists of two-circuit parallel OP amplifiers. The coaxial input is a high-speed pulse transformer (115 MHz, 0.5pF shielded between PS) and a high-speed comparator with hysteresis by bipolar input to prevent jitter contamination. TOSLINK adopts a high-speed type (25MBPS), and both SPDIF inputs are 24Bit/192kHz sampling (32Bit/192kHz Sampling has also been confirmed). TOSLINK is equipped with two inputs. However, one of the three digital lines that can be switched by the rotary switch on the front is switched either core xial or TOSLINK at the back. Digital 3 input can be switched by remote control.

 With two analog inputs, one of which can optionally be an all-JFET OP-amplifier phoneequalizer (input-converted noise voltage -140dBV). Additional options include switching between SP and LP curves. The analog signal is injected into the differential IV conversion circuit via the BTL circuit (composed of JFET input OP amplifier) developed in-house. In digital operation, this injection circuit is detached

* USB and AES/EBU can have some adverse effects when connected, especially USB, since switching noise such as PC can enter greatly, dare to eliminate, and these are recommended to convert to core xials. 

Variable output by front volume is equipped with RCA rear. This makes it very convenient to use as a DAC/preamplifier. This line amplifier is a complete DC amplifier with two-circuit parallel OP amplifier of JFET input. Since there is room for driving power, it also has headphone output. The direct output of the DAC that does not pass through the volume is the balance output of XLR (No. 2 Hot), and only the number 1 and 2 of XLR are used when used in unbalance (No. 3 connects nowhere). It is designed to eliminate the balance and unbalance conversion circuit where the freshness of sound falls. The output voltage is 2.7V to unbalance using XLR number 2, the balance of using number 2 3 is 5.4V, and the SN ratio and dynamic range reach the world's highest level 131dB. We also demonstrate that clock jitters are overwhelmingly small. The distortion rate reached the world's highest level at 0.00064% (BW = 30kHz) at the 1kHz 5.4V output.

As for the power supply part, the crosstalk through the power supply is non-linear, so because of the experience of being extremely malicious, it adopts left and right independent power supply. Since digital input can be digital volume by remote control, the balance output of XLR can be sent directly to the balance input power amplifier. When combined with the power amplifier CERENATE, it is a simple configuration that does not pass through the balance-unbalance conversion circuit or its reverse conversion circuit at all, and it is possible to listen to more fresh sounds. However, since digital volumes cannot be used for analog inputs, it becomes a fixed output.

The power transformer is left and right independent for analog and uses a total of three units for digital use. The two analog transformers connect in the direction of canceling the leakage magnetic flux. Even in environments with high power supply noise, the power supply is equipped with a noise filter to achieve this ultra-high performance. Schottky barrier diodes without power noise, audio capacitors, and audio resistance are adopted. Since PRP's non-magnetic resistance for audio is widely adopted, sound quality is further improved. Connector-less design with high reliability, the main external terminal is gold plated. Transformers and some parts are mounted diagonally because of the design that emphasizes the nature and performance of electricity.

The board is equipped with an input terminal for I2S and DSD signals that can input 32Bit/192kHz and 24Bit/352.8kHz (optionally isolated PS AUDIO-compliant HDMI inputs can be installed as sub-boards internally). The dip switch at the bottom enables setting of char roll-off, slow roll-off, PLL bandwidth, DSD filter characteristics, oversampling, jitter reduction, etc. The design is full of exploration and playfulness.

* I2S specification is a PSAudio compliant I2S specification. I2S connections support signals up to 192kHz/32bit.
* DSD specification Although it is DSD format with 3 signals of L, R, and Clock, it is a proprietary DSD dedicated machine using HDMI connector and SPDIF signal can not be used. It also does not support DSD signals with AV amplifier standard HDMI.

The ES9018 has eight differential DAC s inside, all of which can be used as one channel mono. In this case, set whether it is for right channel or left channel. Using two CAPRICEs and these settings with a dip switch on the bottom, theoretically a close separation is obtained, and by connecting one two-channel output in parallel 135dB a close dynamic range is obtained, so the ultimate performance at the moment is possible.
