Compact rectifier tube for classic sound
High quality 80 rectifier tube for high end tube amplifiers
Silence and expressiveness created by sophisticated power supply
The EML 80 is a high-quality rectifier tube that maintains the musicality of the vintage 80 rectifier tube, but uses Emission Labs' unique high-vacuum treatment and reinforced structure to improve stability and clarity. It exhibits excellent performance especially in current circuits of 135mA or less, and its extremely low ripple and stable power supply further enhances the amplifier's sound field description and sense of silence. In systems where power quality is directly linked to sound quality, such as single-ended amplifiers and headphone amplifiers, the change is more obvious.
Sound quality brought about by a natural rise and rich overtones
Due to the high internal impedance common to 80 rectifier tubes, the EML 80 has a natural sound rise and a smooth, supple expression. It features a transparent mid-high range, a calm tone, and delicate nuances that emerge from silence, making it especially suitable for naturally reproducing vocals, stringed instruments, and acoustic sound sources. Rather than being big and flashy, what's appealing about it is that it allows you to quietly and deeply immerse yourself in the music.

EML craftsmanship in the structure
All EML tubes are hand-made in our European workshops, and this characteristic is evident in the EML 80. Elements that support long life and stable operation are carefully incorporated, such as a hard and durable filament structure, a globe-shaped bulb made of traditional hand-blown glass, and a large getter to maintain high vacuum. The base uses gold-plated pins and a black ceramic UX4 base, which is widely used in Japan.Yamamoto Sound CraftCompatibility with manufactured sockets is also ensured.
Operation design and compatibility with the amplifier
The operating voltage is based on 250V, and the structure is designed with enough margin to allow operation at 275V under proper design. When combined with high-quality choke coils and low-noise power supply circuits, the background noise is further reduced, enhancing the clarity of the music itself. To be compatible with common 80 rectifier tubes using a UX4 base,Yamamoto Sound Craft it can be directly replaced in many vacuum tube amplifiers such as A-08S/A-08SS.
Fusion of Musicality and Modern Technology
The EML 80 combines the supple qualities of vintage rectifier tubes with modern precision and reliability. While giving depth to the core of the sound, it draws the silence of the background in a purer and darker form, elevating the musical expression of the entire system. For those who wish to carefully savor music such as classical, jazz, or vocals, it is an excellent choice that will provide long-term enjoyment.

Spaciousness of the Soundstage through the Mesh Plate
- The first thing I noticed when replacing the rectifier tube with a mesh plate type was how open the soundstage became. The natural extension of the mid-to-high range was remarkable, and the sound seemed to extend smoothly beyond the speakers. There was no sense of pressure, creating a pleasant feeling of openness as the sound unfolded throughout the space.
- The timbre also became clearer, with fine nuances in the high range becoming more apparent. With reduced muddiness, the sustain of cymbals and the subtle resonance of strings feel more natural, allowing the details of the music to vividly come to life.
Power Stability and Low Noise
- The improvement in quietness was another significant change. With extremely low power supply noise, the background becomes deeper and quieter, enhancing the pleasurable feeling at the moment the sound rises. With an improved S/N ratio in the amplifier, the sound became smoother and more transparent.
- It is also impressive that the sound has gained a solid core. Perhaps because a stable current is being supplied, the low range remains steady, and the overall center of gravity feels lower. The music's power and dynamics have increased, resulting in a sound with a sense of reassurance.
