For listeners seeking magic transparency
Wire mesh anode tube with magic power and transparency 300B
EML 300B-Mesh is a vacuum tube designed for those who pursue the ultimate beauty of triode sound. With its delicate yet rich expressiveness, this vacuum tube provides a sense of transparency and depth that brings out the nuances of music. Especially in combination with a low to medium output amplifier, its characteristics stand out and maximize the performance of the speaker. EML 300B-Mesh is the ideal choice for listeners seeking delicate and realistic sound quality.
"Magic" brought by mesh anodes
The biggest feature of EML 300B-Mesh is its "mesh anode." The mesh anode is a structure that uses wire mesh material in the anode inside the vacuum tube, and the excellent attenuation characteristics produced by this structure realize "magical sound." In ordinary solid plate anodes, the circular structure causes ringing due to the "bell effect," and excess sound can occur in the sound, but this ringing is suppressed in the mesh anode, and pure sound is obtained.
For this reason, EML 300B-Mesh employing mesh anodes reproduce a more transparent sound stage, enabling realistic stereo playback that is true to the original sound source. With this, the depth of the sound and the spatial expression stand out, and you can feel the realism as if the music is played in front of you.
Best sound and power balance
Due to the characteristics of vacuum tubes, the balance between sound quality and output is important. EML 300B-Mesh is designed with more emphasis on sound quality than high output, especially when combined with efficient speakers (more than 106dB), enabling rich volume and beautiful sound quality even with less output. The unique transparency and delicate sound of the wire mesh structure provide a musical experience that envelops the listener.
Usage Precautions
EML 300B-Mesh is recommended for use with anode loss lower than normal 300B vacuum tubes. Optimal performance is achieved by observing the following operating conditions:
- Recommended anode loss :22W
- Maximum anode loss (up to standard )
For normal 300B amplifiers, make sure that the amplifier's anode loss is 26W or less. If you exceed 36W, it may cause deterioration in a short period of time.
EML 300B-Mesh Features Summary
- Mesh anode structure: transparent sound stage and clear and pure playback sound
- For low-to-medium output: High-efficiency speaker, its sound quality characteristics stand out
- Deprecated for headphones and preamplifiers: Standard 300B is recommended for small noise applications
To the listener pursuing the beauty of the sound of the triode
EML 300B-Mesh brings out the delicate and transparent sound of the music. It is a vacuum tube that you want to try for those who want to experience the world of real and deep sound as if music is alive.
EML 300B-Mesh Vacuum Tube Replacement Conditions
EML 300B-Mesh vacuum tubes can be used in exchange for standard 300B vacuum tubes when meeting the following requirements:
- Bias and anode loss: Anode loss must be reduced to 22 watts as standard or 28 watts at absolute maximum (see the table below for details).
- Filament current: It is important that the amplifier can provide a filament current of at least 1.4 amps. If this is not met, the heater voltage may drop below 5V and the vacuum tube may fail.
- Vacuum tube size :300B-Mesh is a "long anode" specification with 25% longer anode than standard 300B. Therefore, the physical size is equivalent to the 300B-XLS vacuum tube of EML and is larger than the normal 300B. Even in the case of a closed amplifier, the length of the glass of the vacuum tube is fine, but please check the end of the data sheet for detailed dimensions.
- Heat dissipation characteristics of anodes: Mesh anodes have lower heat dissipation characteristics than solid plate anodes. Therefore, maximum anode loss during continuous use of 300B-Mesh should be limited to 22 watts and an absolute maximum of 28 watts. This is a standard use condition adopted by many Japanese amplifiers, but since some amplifiers operate beyond this number, it is recommended to check with the amplifier manufacturer in advance if the amplifier anode loss is unknown.
By meeting these conditions, you can safely enjoy the transparent sound quality and high performance of EML 300B-Mesh.
