The world of 2A3 with a 40W class plate loss design
Transparency of direct heating triode. High allowable loss. A design concept that is different from the regular 2A3.
JJ Electronic 2A3-40 is JJ's original high power loss type with a maximum plate loss of 40W even though it is a 2A3 series direct heating triode. It has a different design from the general classic 2A3, and is designed for applications that require greater operating margin based on the 2A3 circuit configuration.
It has simple amplification characteristics unique to a directly heated triode output vacuum tube, and is used in single amplifiers for Hi-Fi audio.

Precautions for use
Although the 2A3-40 is similar in appearance and basic configuration to the regular 2A3, its electrical tolerances are different. The maximum plate loss of 40W cannot be used directly with existing 2A3 amplifiers. Be sure to check the amplifier circuit, transformer, and operating point.

Rather than making the general 2A3 more powerful, it is a unique ball that uses the 2A3 direct-heated triode framework and has a large operating margin. When comparing with the regular 2A3, it is necessary to evaluate the amplifier design itself.
