CFRP material optimal for audio

Simply place it on top of your audio equipment to improve sound quality.

Description

Experience the audio improvement effect of a CFRP top plate just by placing it.

Many audio manufacturers use CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) for the top panels, side panels, and enclosures of their equipment because it provides electromagnetic shielding superior to aluminum and excellent vibration control. The Eau Rouge SG-TOP was developed to deliver these benefits more easily and to a wider range of users. By simply placing it on top of your equipment, you can quickly experience changes similar to CFRP construction.

Hybrid structure of specially selected high-modulus CFRP × Neofade 4140

Through years of research, Eau Rouge combines specially selected high-modulus carbon fiber and unique molding to bring out a "musical and organic resonance" that ordinary carbon fiber cannot achieve.
Additionally, a single layer of Mitsubishi Gas Chemical's new damping material, Neofade 4140 (0.125mm thick), is hybridized. This achieves a delicate balance that reduces resonance peaks without dulling the most pleasing parts of the sound.

Ultra-thin vibration damping structure that preserves sound resonance

Typical resin-based damping materials can take away resonance, making the sound heavy and dull. SG-TOP uses an ultra-thin single layer of Neofade, carefully suppressing only unwanted vibrations while maintaining clarity, dynamism, and spatial presence in the music.
This is why Eau Rouge's CFRP products are highly regarded.

Simultaneous control of electromagnetic shielding and top plate resonance

SG-TOP, with an optimal size of 120×120mm, works effectively when simply placed on a wide range of equipment, including CD players, amplifiers, network players, DACs, and speakers.
By reducing top plate resonance, stabilizing microvibrations inside the chassis, and adding CFRP's unique electromagnetic shielding effect, it enhances S/N ratio, tightens background silence, and sharpens the contours of the sound image.

A CFRP item that is easy to install and provides tangible changes

No major modifications or disassembly are required.
Simply placing it on top deepens the soundstage, clears up muddiness in the low frequencies, and highlights the details in the mid and high ranges.
For audio enthusiasts who want to easily experience the effects of CFRP, this item is the perfect approach.

Vibration Control and Silence with CFRP

  • When I introduced the CFRP board, the first thing I noticed was how much deeper the ‘background silence’ became. The characteristic lightness and high rigidity of carbon fiber effectively suppress not only the minute resonances inside the equipment but also the external air vibrations. As a result, the noise floor clearly lowered, and the music seemed to emerge effortlessly from the silence.
It was also impressive how the extension in the high frequencies became more natural, and the sense of air clarity became more visible.
Fine details are no longer buried, and the transparent high frequencies extend naturally, making it easier to perceive the atmosphere captured in recordings.

Sound Balance and Imaging

  • When vibrations are controlled, the contours of the sound image become astonishingly sharp. It feels as if the focus locks perfectly, making the positions of instruments and vocals clear, and greatly enhancing the three-dimensionality of the soundstage. There are more moments where you realize, "Oh, so this is the relationship between the sounds." Most importantly, the incidental sounds disappear smoothly, and the tone becomes very neutral, which leaves a positive impression.
This board doesn’t add anything itself; by removing muddiness and unnecessary resonance, it allows the original sound of the equipment to come through directly.

Ease of Use

  • Its simplicity of use is another pleasant advantage.
You don’t need to worry about installation balance like with insulators; you just place it on top of your equipment. With this alone, the effect is clear, making it an excellent and easy-to-use tweak (sound enhancement item).
