Planar magnetic field flagship equipped with a unique driver

Description

Product concept

《Binom-ER》 is a planar magnetic field type flagship headphone born from a workshop in Berlin, Germany. It was designed by Ukrainian engineer Ole Ryzov. He took the idea that he had cultivated through making speakers, ``a single driver can reproduce the entire frequency range without any coloration,'' and brought it directly to headphones. We designed and manufactured almost everything by ourselves, from the planar drive driver "Binom-E" at the heart to the machined metal casing and headband mechanism. It's like having full-range speakers placed right next to your ears.holographic soundstageNaturally depicts everything. Moreover, it is easy to drive at 42Ω, and can demonstrate its true potential even without a huge desktop amplifier—a rare product among high-end planar magnetic field types.

About CAMERTON

CAMERTON is an audio brand founded in Ukraine in 1999 and restarted in Berlin, Germany in 2019. The brand name means "tuning fork" in Ukrainian. Founder Ole Ryzov is a natural engineer who perfected his own speaker driver at the age of 15. After working as chief engineer at the prestigious Voxativ company, he became independent. He is a rare engineer who can complete all aspects of diaphragm, magnetic circuit, and housing design by himself. Known for making full-range speakers that eliminate crossovers, the philosophy of pursuing a "sound image with a sense of unity" was inherited in the first headphones, Binom-ER.

Features
  • Uniquely developed driver “Binom-E”:A high-purity aluminum conductor is formed on an ultra-thin 6μm (micrometer) PET diaphragm using photo-etching (a technology that precisely scrapes off unnecessary metal, similar to photoengraving). It has superior electrical characteristics than the general method of spraying metal, and faithfully depicts the sound from its momentary rise to its end.

  • No need for a huge amp:With 42Ω and sensitivity of 94dB/mW, it is designed to be extremely easy to drive as a flagship planar magnetic field type. You are not limited to a large stationary amplifier, and you can demonstrate your capabilities even with a portable machine.

  • Extremely low distortion:THD (total harmonic distortion) at 94dB SPL is less than 0.01%. Even at high volumes, details are not muddy and the sound remains clean and transparent.

  • Completely non-contact anti-vibration design:Each element of the housing and headband is mechanically separated to prevent external vibrations and noise from being transmitted to the delicate diaphragm. The driver itself is also insulated from the outer circumference of the ear pad with a silicone rubber insert. The headband adjustment also uses a non-contact mechanism that uses magnetism, so operating noise and vibrations are not mixed in with the sound.

  • USB-C connection “MSC”:Adopts a reversible USB-C terminal (MSC = Multi-Contact Symmetrical Connect) that can be inserted into either the left or right ear cup. You can choose cables from stationary (4.4mm/XLR4) and mobile. A stationary Y-shaped cable doubles the number of signal contacts and provides more stable transmission.

  • Aerospace grade monolithic construction:The structural material that carries the load is an ultra-light aluminum alloy used in the aerospace field. CNC-machined from solid wood, the headband has a seamless monolithic structure. By eliminating unnecessary joint parts, it achieves both lightness of 375g and high rigidity and reliability. Finish is black/titanium optic. The thick, removable ear pads (multiple types) provide a comfortable fit.

Reviews & Testimonials

VGP2026 Gold Award
We won the Gold Award in the "Open Overhead Headphones (500,000 yen or more and less than 1 million yen)" category.

Headfonics (overseas specialized media) Overall score 9/10
Highly praised for its powerful low range and natural tone across the entire range. Its strengths are that it has a detailed yet natural sound, is easy to play even on portable devices, and is comfortable to wear.holographic soundstage(The lack of space and the availability of USB-C cables are cited.)

Haute Fidélité (France/N°271/2024) Reference Award
In a review by a prestigious French audio magazine, it was first praised for its excellent comfort, followed by astonishment at its smooth and natural tones and vast soundstage. It was awarded the Reference Award as a highly accomplished musical success with flowing, water-like sound with no aggression.

6moons Blue Moon Award (2024)
The long-established overseas high-end audio magazine 6moons (reviewed by Srajan Ebaen) reviewed the Binom-ER and awarded it the Blue Moon Award.
