Equipped with 4th generation "Hibiki" circuit

Phono Equalizer Unlocks the Potential of MC Cartridges

Description

An analog signal with an infinite resolution can be reproduced infinitely by using an analog equalizer. The CAP-1002MK2 is a phono equalizer developed to easily and with high accuracy the sound that analog records naturally have.

Equipped with 4th generation "Hibiki" circuit

The biggest evolution of the CAP-1002MK2 is that the HIBIKI circuit developed by the company has evolved from the first generation to the fourth generation at once. Circuit accuracy has been dramatically improved, and input impedance has been reduced to less than half of the previous model. It is particularly effective when using an MC cartridge with current input, allowing for more straight and muddy regeneration.

No-feedback RIAA curve amplification method

Although the CAP-1002MK2 is a no-feedback amplifier, it adopts the unique principle that the amplification level itself becomes a RIAA curve. It achieves stable operation without causing problems such as clipping. Furthermore, by combining an MC cartridge with a large output current, it achieves a large S/N ratio that was not possible with conventional equalizer amplifiers, allowing for clear and clear reproduction with little noise.

Supports both MC/MM and gain switching

The CAP-1002MK2 not only extracts the maximum information even for MM cartridges, but also for MC cartridges with a small output voltage using the fourth generation "Hibi" circuit, reducing noise. Furthermore, the equalizer gain can be switched to two levels. Switch to "High" for cartridges with small output and "Low" for cartridges with large output, so you can play in the optimal state at all times. Moreover, since the equalizer element itself is switched, there is no deterioration in the S/N ratio due to gain switching.

Battery power supply shuts out noise

The power source can be a mobile USB charger or a mobile battery. The current consumption is 5V250mA, so it can be used for 40 hours with a 10AH battery. Using a mobile battery will not be affected by noise, so you can run the CAP-1002mk2 in its best condition.

Review

The CAP-1002's design features an impressive front panel with a chrome-reflecting metal switches, and the thin casing that looks like it has been stripped of excess weight, giving it a more manly atmosphere among the series. At the same time, it has the necessary and sufficient functions to enjoy the world of analog records. Like other CAP series, it is battery powered, so I'm honestly happy that you won't be troubled by the noise that is unique to that turntable. What's more, it's USB-supplied, so you can now get batteries anywhere. The playback sound that I'm interested in is smooth and not extremely fine tone like the higher-end models, but it's more extruded and has a clear sound, making this a better impression for those who like jazz and vocals. It gives you a beautiful, transparent singing voice without any noise that makes you notice when you play old 1960s records. . The cost performance is also incredible.
