ASTORWe have revamped our lineup with all high-grade amplifiers now available in mono mode. This product, AST-KT88MVIP/SP, achieves higher output power and deeper acoustic performance by converting stereo amplifiers into mono amplifiers. It is especially effective for improving acoustic performance when driving high-load speakers, maximizing the potential of the KT88 tube, which has a wide output range.

Improved audio symmetry and ease of installation

If the room's acoustics or speaker placement cause the soundstage to be unbalanced during stereo playback, mono conversion is effective. By integrating the outputs of both channels, a mono amplifier can achieve a uniform and stable soundstage, improving audio symmetry. Additionally, compared to full-size stereo amplifiers that are bulky, each unit weighs less than half (compared to the company), making installation and handling much easier—another advantage not to be overlooked.

Proprietary circuit that achieves sound quality equivalent to fixed bias

For self-bias capacitors, compared to the typical manufacturer's specification (200~400 microns), this model uses a completely different capacitor of 4000 microns. This allows for self-biased sound quality equivalent to fixed bias. Furthermore, by using UL connections, output power increases, contributing to improved sound transparency and resolution. The volume is a click-type 31-contact attenuator, enabling precise control.
