MAOP processing model of Markaudio maximum aperture Alpair 11MS
A new frontier for the full range of 8-inch metal cones
The MAOP_11MS is the latest model based on the Alpair 11MS, which boasts the largest diameter of Markaudio's damperless unit, with a unique MAOP treatment. In addition to the originally delicate expressive damperless design, the excellent damping characteristics unique to MAOP are fused to achieve a very smooth and musical sound.
Pure copper rectangle wire – acoustic design pursued to the extreme
This unit is equipped with a specially designed voice coil that uses Rectangle Pure Copper Wire. It is thoroughly lightweight like a high-performance racing engine. One of the features of this coil is that it is possible to reduce weight by several tens of percent for the same magnetic force, and there are many advantages that are directly linked to improved sound quality, such as reducing linear resistance and suppressing self-resonance.
In addition, we are particular about the structure of the unit, and use a mixed fiberglass and ABS resin chassis. The magnet part is covered with rubber to minimize the effect of resonant sound.
Thorough support for the fluid design on the back, which is often overlooked.
While many theories have gone into the design of the enclosure, the fluid properties on the back of the speaker unit itself are often neglected. MAOP_11MS also focused on this point and adopted a design based on fluid dynamics. It maximizes the potential of the unit and provides an amazingly natural and transparent sound.
Win high ratings in audio events
The prototype of this unit was unveiled as a listening device at an audio event in Japan and received high praise from enthusiastic listeners. By adding the braking power unique to MAOP to the delicate expressive power of the conventional Alpair11MS, smooth and rich music playback is realized. It has attracted a lot of interest as a model that further expands the possibilities of a full-range driver.
MAOP – Strong Electric Field Oxidation Crystallization
MAOP (Micro-Arc Oxidation Process) is a special oxidation crystallization process applied to the surface of a cone made of aluminum-magnesium alloy. In this process, oxidation proceeds over a long period of time in a solution in an alkaline electrolyzer with a high voltage of 700 V, forming a myriad of fine crystal structures on the cone surface. By applying this treatment, the cone surface changes to a unique crystal structure with less luster. Crystals containing countless microscopic bubbles are formed, which greatly affect the acoustic properties.
MAOP is not just a coating, it is a process that changes the cone itself. As a result, the mass gain of the cone is less than 0.4%, resulting in a significantly lighter finish compared to typical coatings. You can see countless crystals that look like sponges and microscopic air holes. This precise structure distributes and absorbs vibrational energy appropriately while maintaining the rigidity of the metal, creating a damping effect similar to that of a pulp diaphragm. The result is an extremely flat frequency response and a quiet, transparent sound quality.
