Beautiful screwdrivers with high precision and high quality

Description

Be sure to pick up and see the finish of this beautiful driver. While many loudspeaker manufacturers have moved to mass production, Mark Fennon continues to have a strong commitment to excellent craftsmanship, manufacturing almost all of its models in its own lab and factory. Reminiscent of the pinnacles of Japan's audio manufacturing in the 80s and 90s, this passion for quality is in the details. Compared to other companies' drivers, you can see the high precision and high quality of Markaudio, which has been carefully assembled with care from the adhesive part of the front edge.

Voice coil with Rectangular Wire

Rectangle (flat) copper wire is used for the voice coil, and the conversion efficiency in the magnetic field is about 30% more efficient than that of the round wire, so the drive weight (MMD) can be reduced, and the eddy current in the midrange can be reduced, and the coil folded part is small and the surface area can be large, contributing to sound quality over the entire range. In addition, a mixed chassis of fiberglass and ABS resin is adopted, and the resonant sound transmitted to the magnet is dumped by wrapping the magnet with a rubber cover.

MAOP(Micro-Arc Oxidation Process Cone)
Strong electric field oxidation crystallization process

The matte glossy surface is a feature of the MAOP series, and this is the name of the surface treatment.

This process refers to the process of immersing an alloy cone in a solution in an alkaline electrolyzer with a very strong voltage (700V) for a long time (1~2 weeks) to oxidize the surface and produce crystals. By adopting this treatment, the surface of the cone changes to a crystalline body with countless flexible bubbles (many holes) as shown in the photo (this method changes the cone itself and is not a coating, so there is almost no mass increase)

You can see countless small crystalline bodies and air holes that look like the surface of a sponge. The piles of metal and air holes created after the process of several weeks make the reproduced sound natural.

This is a groundbreaking invention that achieves a damping effect similar to that of a pulp diaphragm on a metal diaphragm, using a new material that dumps the micro-resonance patterns generated through this surface. This is why it is referred to as a quiet driver, as it realizes characteristics across a very flat wide bandwidth.

The crystallization process of the cone surface alone requires a lead time of two months, and assembly is delicate, so each unit is carefully assembled by Japanese engineers and Mark Fenlon. Each assembled driver is checked for T/S parameters and frequency characteristics, and pairs are determined.
