For the self-bias capacitor, the AST-KT88MVIP uses an order of magnitude larger capacitor (4000 micro) compared to the 200~400 micro capacitors used by most manufacturers. This allows the AST-KT88MVIP to have the same sound quality as a fixed bias, even though it is self-biased. The AST-KT88MVIP can be replaced with various KT88, KT120, and other compatible vacuum tubes manufactured by tube manufacturers around the world without any hesitation to bring out the best performance.

In addition, the use of UL connections increases output power, contributing to improved sound transparency and resolution. The volume is controlled precisely by using a click type attenuator with 31 contacts.
