From non-inductive wire-wound resistors to digital attenuators

The volume control of Bakun Products' amplifiers now has a metal film resistor as an optional setting in addition to the standard volume control.AttenuatorHowever, as of this April, the non-inductive wire-wound resistance attenuator has been replaced by a digital attenuator.

The digital attenuator is a newly developed attenuator by Bakun Products. It is more accurate than the non-inductive wire-wound resistive attenuator and can adjust the signal level more precisely. Therefore, the conventional switch typeattenuator was 2dB step, but the digital attenuator is 0.5dB step.

Digital Attenuatorchanges the resistance ratio just like an ordinary volume, and for SATRI amplifiers, it changes the resistance value. The error is within 0.1db in actual measurement. The digital and analog boards are separate. Since the resistance is changed by a relay, there is no distortion. Also, the wiring is kept as short as possible and the pattern width is as wide as possible by using minute chip resistors, so there is no distortion.AttenuatorThe ground plane of the board minimizes the impedance. The board has a ground plane to reduce impedance as much as possible, so it operates stably up to high frequencies.

The digital attenuator has high accuracy and controllability, and low noise level. The digital attenuator has a high level of precision, controllability, and low noise level, and has never been heard before compared to conventional non-inductive wire-wound resistors, and has no incidental noise,Resolution is also improved. The digital attenuator also offers excellent signal stability and reproducibility due to its high repeatability and low error and drift.

From the non-inductive wire-wound resistive attenuatorThere is a slight price change depending on the model in transitioning from non-inductive wire-wound resistance attenuators to digital attenuators.
