It has a stereo output of 35W+35W and can output 100W in a mono BTL configuration.
Its biggest feature is the full adoption of surface-mount components without lead wires for all the parts that make up the amplifier. Until now, the resistors, capacitors, and semiconductors used in the company’s amplifiers had leaded components.
However, today, products using leaded components are hardly available, and it has become difficult to obtain them.
The company was faced with a choice: either continue using expensive leaded components or change the amplifier design itself to use lead-free surface-mount components.
The company chose to use surface-mount components.
Not only that, by using lead-free surface-mount components, they decided to create a high-precision amplifier that could not be achieved before.
Leads can cause coloration in sound depending on their material and properties. By eliminating the leads, they aimed to remove this coloration as well. When using surface-mount components, they reviewed the design method of the printed circuit board that carries the components. The length of the printed pattern wiring that would color the sound, as with lead wires, was reduced to less than a quarter. In addition, by using surface-mount components, they developed many new circuits that allow for high precision.
Previously, it took about 4 minutes for the bias current to stabilize, but with the AMP-5521, they succeeded in reducing that to less than 10 seconds.
Compared to amplifiers using conventional leaded components, they achieved an amplifier about 50 times more precise. In combination with SATRI speakers, realistic playback as if a performer were right in front of you became possible.
