Lightest camellia headshell
Lightest headshell
Description
HS-7 is a wooden headshell made of rare and excellent domestic camellia wood. Camellia wood has a specific gravity of 0.7, which is considerably lighter than ebony, and yet the grain is very fine and homogeneous, and it has excellent characteristics. With a dead weight of 8.1g (not including mounting screws), it is one of the lightest headshells in the range of headshells. In general, the lighter the weight of the tonearm of a record player, including the cartridge and headshell, the higher its operating sensitivity. In the case of the HS-7, we recommend that you take advantage of its lightness and use it as a light vibration system. By lowering the mass of the headshell, you can enjoy a different and nimble sound from the same cartridge.
The HS-7 is finished with clear eco-paint, and its natural appearance with wood grain has a unique appeal. The fingertips are made of brass and gold-plated. The wood itself does not emit its own resonant sound, so there is almost no finger-squeaking that is a problem with metal shells.
