Description
The AS-XP1000SP is a top-of-the-line box-type preamplifier with the vacuum tube inside the casing, a rarity among Astro Electronics products. The chassis is made of 2mm-thick 18-18 stainless steel with mirror finish and 2mm-thick metal fittings, as in other products of the company, and the XP type 2mm-thick mirror stainless steel plate is used. This is a very robust and beautiful mirror finish. This robust and beautiful mirror-finished casing alone costs nearly 200,000 yen.
The volume is a gold-plated 2P2511 type from Tokyo Kohon Denpa-do, and the electrolytic block capacitors are semi-custom made by Nichicon to provide a stable B power circuit. All parts are carefully selected for reliability and each unit is completely handmade. The input and output terminals use Furutech's top-quality rhodium-plated RCA terminals, which are superior in terms of sound quality and prevent deterioration of sound quality over time and maintain stability.
Astro Denshi's high-end preamplifiers have an overwhelmingly quiet, vibrant, dynamic, and three-dimensional sound, and the AS-XP1000SP provides power and dynamics from a low volume range with even greater clarity of each note. The AS-XP1000SP has a characteristic of almost flat frequency reproduction from 10Hz to 100kHz to faithfully reproduce the recorded sound field information as it is. The system can reproduce the atmosphere and atmosphere of each recorded sound source without any seasoning, so you can fully enjoy the recording conditions and flavors of CDs and vinyl records. The uncompromisingly authentic built-in phono equalizer is another attractive feature. The foot is made from a 50mm oxygen-free copper round bar, and is attached to the bottom plate with a piece of young cowhide leather between the bottom plate for further vibration control.
