Description
The chassis of the VIP series is made of 2mm-thick 18-18 stainless steel with a mirror finish and 1mm-thick oxygen-free copper inside. The mounting parts are made of 2mm thick oxygen-free copper material. This robust and beautiful mirror-finished casing alone cost nearly 200,000 yen, but it is remarkably effective in anti-vibration and anti-noise measures. The heat dissipation is also very good, so even though it is a vacuum tube amplifier, it can be used for a long time without any problem at all. The insulator is made of oxygen-free round copper rod and attached with young cowhide leather. The circuit parts are manufactured using only carefully selected parts that are good for sound quality.
For the volume, a resistive attenuator type 21-contact VR made by Seiden or AmTrans is used, gold-plated San Hayato lug terminals are used, and AMCO type metallized PET film capacitors made by AmTrans are used as coupling capacitors. The electrolytic block capacitors are semi-custom-made by Nichicon to form a stable B power circuit. All parts are carefully selected and manufactured with reliability.
For input terminals, high-end rhodium-plated RCA terminals from Furutech are used, and for speaker terminals, rhodium-plated FTs, which are also high-end models from Furutech and are tightening nut type with torque limiter function, are used, and for AC, INLET(R) rhodium type is used.
The vacuum tube mounting precision is also extremely high, and noise generated from the vacuum tube mounting area is minimized as much as possible. Artistic aerial wiring with no waste eliminates noise pickup caused by wiring. This Astro Denshi's unique manufacturing technology and Astro Denshi's custom-made transformer manufactured by Hashimoto Denki have succeeded in reproducing the original sound faithfully with clear and transparent sound quality without noise and turbidity, and without unnecessary decorations.
The KT88VIP, KT120VIP, and KT150VIP series can be replaced by simply adjusting the bias.
