A new analog world of tradition and technology

Accurately picks up the sound of the groove and does not deteriorate

Description

The choice of blue-and-white porcelain for the cartridge body is from the point of view of Chinese culture and sound. We tested the sound quality of more than 10 types of porcelain carefully selected from a large number of porcelain in China, and as a result of comparison and examination, we finally chose blue-and-white porcelain, which was close in density to aluminum and had the best sound.

"Dragon", "Bird", "Tiger" and "Tortoise" represent "protection", "good luck", "power" and "longevity" respectively. All cartridges are assembled by hand by experienced engineers.

The performance of a cartridge depends on a combination of factors, including:

1. Handling resonances that occur during tracking

If the resonance generated by stylus tracking cannot be attenuated or absorbed, it will bounce back to the stylus through the cantilever and interfere with normal stylus movement, causing sound quality degradation. Therefore, in order to set the price according to the performance of the cartridge and obtain the corresponding anti-vibration effect, we design each cartridge and select the appropriate materials and design. Therefore, the more expensive the cartridge, the better the performance in eliminating the effects of resonance due to the material of the body and structural parts.

2. Selection of suspension tension and damping stiffness

Different cantilever materials have different suspension tensions and damping gaskets, which require adjustments to obtain optimal dynamic response. It is also an important indicator for determining the resonant frequency of the stylus. The ultimate goal, of course, is to get the stylus to the right needle pressure so that the groove signal can be picked up quickly and accurately, and no resonance occurs in the 20Hz~20KHz audio frequency band.

3. Cantilever length selection

The length of the cantilever also affects the resonant frequency and response speed.

4. Selection of coil turns and coil material

It is related to the internal resistance of the cartridge, the inductance value, the output level, etc.

5. Magnet selection and magnetic circuit design

Different types of magnets have different magnetic fluxes, and magnets with high magnetic flux can be used with a small number of turns of coils. Conversely, the number of turns of the coil should be increased.

6. Stylus Tip Structure Selection

If the structure of the tip of the stylus is different, the contact surface with the groove of the vinyl record will be different, which will affect the resolution of the sound. The better the structure of the chip, the more detailed the sound can be. They are in the order of conical < oval< line contacts< superlines< microridges.

In other words, our cartridges are based on a comprehensive judgment of price, performance, and functionality, and the above6It is made by selecting and combining two perspectives.

Sapphire cantilever and Shibata Nature Diamond Stylus

The "TIGER" MC cartridge uses a Japan Shibata needle and sapphire cantilever to restore the record signal more accurately. Diamonds in nature have higher hardness and a longer service life.

Innovative resonance suppression structure and cantilever suspension structure

"TIGER" delivers a clean, detailed, and detailed sound performance.

Blue-and-white porcelain body, oriental musicality

Blue and white porcelain introduces bright Chinese cultural features and is pleasing to the eyes and ears, it is the perfect combination of audiovisual.

Review

Jasmine's MC cartridges, the B&W Porcelain series, are the company's high-end series. This time, I bought a white tiger using sapphire for the cantilever and a shibata needle for the stylus. This series is named after the four gods, and there are four models: Blue Dragon, White Tiger, Suzaku, and Xuanbu, and the Blue Dragon is Boron, the White Tiger is Sapphire, Suzaku is aluminum, and Xuanbu is an aluminum pipe cantilever. The body is a seto thing, and there is a naked vibration system inside. It's a very well-organized, toned sound. As you can guess from the shape, the Porcelain series is designed with a lot of attention to detail, and the sound is amazing. *Excerpt from Mr. Nagai on Bakoon Products

If you listen to the combination of the company's turntable and the dynamic balance tonearm, you will get a very precise and tight sound. It is not the soft sound of a general analog image, and if you do not adjust it properly, it will sound distorted. When customers who come to listen to this sound listen to it, they all say that their concept of analog records has changed. That's how powerful this cartridge is, but it needs the right arm and turntable, as well as the right adjustments to make it look like it's worth it.One thing that can be said about Jasmine's products is that they have a sound that far exceeds expectations for the price.*Mr. Nagai of Bakoon Products

So, let's change the cartridge...
Mr. Nagai replaced the DL-103 with Jasmine's high-end cartridge ceramic series、、、

Let's adjust the needle pressure and listen to it...
Oh! This is a completely different thing! The sound that comes out of the SATRI flat speaker with an adapter with a ceramic cartridge is so vivid that I feel that I have never heard such an analog sound before! The sound is already lively, and it bounces...

Uh ~ While I'm growling, it's time to go home...
Lastly, I would like to ask you to listen to a classic record from a long time ago.
This is a recording from the 50s, but it has a fresh sound, and the sound is so lively that it is hard to believe that it is more than 60 years old. This is a time machine, isn't it?Kazuma Nishino's Audio in Nishikata Jodo Part 2
